Sorption of Fulvic Acids onto Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles Extracted from Commercial Sunscreens: ToF-SIMS and High-Dimensional Data Analysis

چکیده
Titanium dioxide nanoparticles (n-TiO2) are common ingredients of sunscreens and often released into surface waters during usage. Once released, the chemistry n-TiO2 changes by interacting with dissolved organic matter (DOM). In previous studies, these interactions were investigated using model and; therefore, do not account for complex composition coating aged in sunscreens. Taking advantage a mild extraction method to provide more realistic nanoparticles, we potentials time flight-secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) combined high-dimensional data analysis characterize sorption fulvic acids, as DOM, on titanium extracted from ten different commercial (n-TiO2 ? sunscreen). Clustering confirmed ability ToF-SIMS detect acids. Moreover, unique pattern was recognized each sunscreen, which implied fractionation acids based initial specifications e.g., size, coating, etc. Furthermore, random forest used extract most important fragments predicting presence sunscreen. Finally, evaluate potential characterizing layer.

متن کاملTof-sims Analysis of Cometary Fragments Extracted from a Stardust Aerogel
Introduction: Dust from comet Wild 2 was collected by the Stardust mission and returned to Earth in 2006 [1]. Low-density silica aerogel served as primary capture medium to facilitate gentle deceleration of cometary matter at a sampling velocity of 6.1 km/s [2]. However, the majority of the cometary matter captured by Stardust ended up in so-called bulbous aerogel tracks, where most of the mass...

متن کاملStudy on destruction of extracted toxins from isolated Cyanobacteria using titanium dioxide
Cyanobacteria are major group of microorganism with capability to produce different types of toxin. Indeed, anthropogenic eutrophication of surface water is the main reason for acceleration of their growth and ecological problems. Therefore, the present study tried to isolate toxic cyanobacteria from Kor River, Fars province. For this purpose, 18 water samples were collected from three sampling...
متن کاملInformation from Complexity: Challenges of TOF-SIMS Data Interpretation
Time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS) data are complex, even for the simplest systems. Yet it is within this complexity that information about sample composition, molecular orientation, surface order, chemical bonding, sample purity, etc. is contained. The challenge is how to easily extract this information from the spectra and images. Multivariate analysis (MVA) has shown p...
